Yoga

Today for fitness we did Yoga. I thought it would have been harder but I was surprised when it wasn't. I think I worked well and really got tired although I think I coud've done a little bit better if I wasn't so sore from yesterdays Weight Room activity. Some stretches we did were really a challenge but I tried as best I could to do them or I tried modifying them. Once P.E. Was over I didn't break out in a sweat but I could feel my heart rate going was faster and that my face was more red. I think the people I worked around with also really helped me stay focused by also doing the excercises instead of distracting me. I hope next time we do something like this, I'm not as sore as I was today.

Weight Room


Yesterday for P.E. I decided to go into the weight room. In the weight I room I did some excercises that helped with toning your body such as push ups, crunches, wall sits and planks. For push ups I did 3 sets of 5 and I got pretty tired quick because I had done it in a harder way where you had your hands in a diamond shape. Next I did 30 crunches, it was really tiring, but I was proud since I hadn't  stopped once. I also did a plank, I tried setting a goal and tried to go up to 3 minutes without sinking but I got tired and started shaking and ended up stopping at 2 minutes. I was dissapointed since I knew I could've gone longer although I knew it was because my arms were already tired from the push ups. After that I got up to 50 seconds on the wallsit, I think I could've done better but I also thought that it wasn't as bad as other times where I just decided to quit early. I also used a machince that would tone my arms. I did 2 reps of 30 with 70lbs. I got really tired but I was proud since I finished all 60 times. The timer at the bottom represents  when I stopped while doing the plank.

Marco Polo

Today we played Marco Polo, I thought it was a lot of fun although I wish it would've been warmer. I couldn't feel anything! It also didn't help that it was slippery out, and the moment I started running, I fell. Although it was cold outside I still tried running and going after people although I did feel restricted because my partner didn't feel well and wouldn't run with me as much I would have liked them too. Also I didn't like the fact that one group of wolves just hid in the entire game and didn't blow the whistle to let us know that they were hiding. This made it worse because everyone just started chasing one group and it wasn't that active since the group would usually get cornered and get caught easily. Other than that I really liked the game and would love to play it again, just in a warmer weather!

Insanity Fitness

Today for fitness we did Insanity. I actually liked doing Insanity and I thought I had a good workout considering I didn't get moved neither did I get yelled at. Although I think I did fine, I don't think I worked to the best of my ability. Last time we did Insanity I remember leaving the gym with sweat dripping down my face and looking at the mirror only to find that I was super red. I think I didn't do as well as last time because I didn't have very motivational people around me. Next time we do Insanity I am going to choose better people to.work out besides even if that means a teacher so that I can get motivated to try my hardest and leave with a sweaty face.

Midterm Report Card

During P.E. this year I think I did well in being active and involved in the class. Everyday in P.E. I brought my strip to class and was prepared for what we would be doing. I also never tried sitting out while I didn't feel to well and would try and modify whatever we were doing so that I could still work out without hurting myself even more. Other than that I think I that I bring energy to the class when we play games together or when we do fitness, although sometimes I don't feel to energetic and don't try to involve myself or the class too much. Overall I think I bring a good attitude to class but sometimes I feel lazy and I do whatever we're doing just so that I can finish it, although other times I bring a really energetic attitude and just feel like working out or having fun. For example, on the day we did the scavenger hunt I was really active and kept wanting to run around. Also one day we did Insanity for a fitness and I think I did really good and kept pushing myself even after I was tired and felt burnt out but I thought it was really fun. Personally I like doing the Loco Motion, Community run and Insanity. I think I like these exercises because it really makes you push yourself and show how much determination you have instead of just getting timed. For the rest of the year I would like to get a higher Beep Test score and finish the Community run faster. So far I am most proud of how much more into fitness I am than before. This year I feel more energetic on fitness days unlike last year or the year before where I would get tired really easy. Overall I think I deserve an 95% A in P.E. this semester.

Monday Beep Test

For today's fitness activity I think I didn't do the best that I could. When I first found out that it was fitness in the morning I was disappointed because I didn't feel ready, neither did I have my shoes that made it easier to run in. On the first beep test I got up to 7.5 and thought that my time was okay considering I didn't feel well and my shoes made it harder to run in. On the second beep test I got up to 6 but thought I could do way better if only my back didn't start hurting. I felt like I could have gone up till a 8.5 or maybe even a 9 if I wasn't injured. Overall I wish I could have done better if I had known it was fitness.

Outside Fitness

For this Fitness activity I thought I did really good and would have done better if I had enough time. For example the moment we had to start running on the hill we had to go back inside so instead of doing two hill runs, I just had enough time to do one. Although I couldn't finish the run on time I think  did great on pushing myself for the exercises and on the stairs. I liked this activity because it really made you push yourself and help out you peers but I didn't like that we didn't have enough time to finish it completely.

Friday Fitness

On Friday we did Insanity for fitness. I think I worked really good and put a lot of effort into the exercises and did everything to the best of my ability. I'm proud that I worked hard and was covered in sweat after. I think I worked hard because I was really in the mood of exercising as well as being around people that helped me focus instead of messing around.

  For the weight room I decided I want to work on toning my body instead of just losing weight or gaining heavy muscle. I think these exercises can really help me with my goal and help achieve want I want. I think these videos are really helpful.

Fitness day

Today for fitness we did a circuit. I thought I worked really hard and didn't give up. For example, for the imaginary chair exercise I would stay on position until the buzzer went off. I also tried doing squats instead of just standing around whenever I didn't have an exercise ball.

Fitness Day

Today in PE we did the firness test. I usually get a 8 or 9 but today I got a 6.5. I think I could have done better. Other than that I think I also need to improve on my body bridges. I usually do around 3 minutes but since I haven't had too much practise over summer I think I will improve.

Final Blog Post

Hi Mr. Neufeld.
  For my final blog post I would like to say how I have learned from P.E. and what I'm going to do over the Summer break.For P.E. I always bring my strip and I have never forgotten it. I've also always come to class prepared and on time. In the entire year I remeber one time when I hadn't participated in the last 30 Minute run because I had a sprained ankle. I really wish I had joined though so that I could have seen how I improved and just to participate in the last run. For P.E. I also always try and help by encouraging classmates to try harder or help by putting away or removing equipment for we will be doing. During P.E. this year I think I had really improved on many things and had fallen back on others. For example, for the beep test I had gotten an 8.2 for the first time after getting 6's and 7's. Also for the 30 minute run I had done 7 laps once rather than 5/6. In areas that I think I had fallen back in were things like the T-test and body bridge. I was dissapointed that I had gotten 2 minutes on the body bridge when I usually get 3 but I think I will try and practise more. I also think I improved on the wall touches because ever since I had joined dance this semester we would stretch everyday and this helped with my flexibilty. During the summer I would love to continue with dance and soccer. During P.E. I find that I bring a positive attitude to class by being ready to do whatever we will be doing and encouraging my friends and classmates. Being physically educated to me is being able to understand how your body works and what types of exercises work best for you and what helps you succeed in whatver you would like to achieve. I think I am ready for independence by starting to eat a little more healthier rather than just binging on junk food. I will also try and  be more physically fit by joining clubs in the summer and just doing fun things aswell like hiking and swimming. I think some obstacles that keep me from having a healthy life are me being lazy and sitting like a couch potato and eating food that tastes good but really isn't good for you. I think I should get an A because over the year I have learned many new things and have tried harder than before as well as joining clubs in and out of school to keep myself more fit.

Soccer Game

Hi Mr. Neufeld,
 On Friday after fitness I had a soccer game. It was an easy game and we won 11-0 (Me having scored 2 goals). For soccer, tournaments are two games and since this was our first game we had a second game on Sunday and it was a lot more tougher. We had lost by 3-0 but really worked hard. Although we didn't win we still came in second place and got silver medals which was pretty cool.
P/S: I accidently changed into my black shirt early :$

Fitness - Beep Test

Hi Mr. Neufeld,
 On Friday we did the beep test. Before we had started I made a promise to myself that I would atleast get upto 7. After the beep test I was proud of myself becase I got upto 8.2 although I knew if I pushed just a little more I could have gotten atleast to 9. After the beep test we did the circuits. I was really proud of myself because I thought since I hadn't done the body bridge for a while my strength would have gotten weaker although it didn't and I finished at 3 minutes and 2 seconds.

P.E. Post Semester #1

Hi, this term in P.E. I think I've been doing fairly well. I help set up and put things away, but not until I know what we are doing. I also bring my P.E. strip everyday and theres never been a time when I haven't. I think I'm doing well in class because I always involve myself in whatever activity we're doing as a class or on choice day. I also think I act well in class because I try and encourage classmates to involve themselves in activities they may think are boring. Although I enjoy and try and class activities I may not do so well in fitness. I do try my personal best on any fitness day but sometimes when I don't feel like doing fitness, I slack off and don't try as hard as I would normally. This doesn't mean that I don't do anything but it just means that every time I start feeling uncomfortable I'll stop for a while but then start joining in again. In conclusion, I think that I should get a 'B' in P.E. because even though I don't try my best on some fitness days, I do always enjoy other class activities and participate in whatever we are doing with my P.E. strip.

Interim Report - March 6

I think I am doing very well in class. I participate in many activities, always bring my P.E. strip and always help with putting things away and setting up. One thing I think I should work on would be to try as hard as I can on fitness days. Although I do the activities I usually stop trying so hard after  I get tired and I think I should stop doing that and try hard till the end of the activity. I also think that I can improve on learning new muscles in the weight room rather than just looking at them and working those particular muscles.

Semester 1 #1

Hi Mr. Neuf.

 During P.E. this semester I think I showed that I am prepared and willing to join physical activities by bringing my P.E. strip every time we have P.E. and by help setting up whenever we did an activity invloving equipment. I think I contribute to the overall success of the class by involving in activities even if I think I am not good in it. The kind of attitude I bring to class is excitment and being prepared. I think I interact well with my classmates by talking to them and encouraging them to do better if not great. I think my participation during fitness days vary. For example, I sometimes do not try to the best of my abilities, while other times I really try hard and end up being proud for what I achieved. My fitness goals for the rest of the year will be to try and beat what I've already achieved. To me leadership means encouraging someone to do the best of their abilities. It also means to be respectful and helpful towards their peers. Some improvements I would like to make by the end of the year is to run the entire time on the 25 minute run and to try and beat my score on the beep test by atleast 2 numbers. In conclusion I think I should get an A in P.E. because I think I really try my hardest and I always bring a positive attitude to class.
